TEHRAN (IQNA) – An online competition on Quran recitation in the local Iraqi style has concluded, Iraq’s National Center of Quranic Sciences said.


More than 100 Iraqi Qaris participated in the competition and 12 top ones made it to the final stage.

The Quran experts of the center evaluated the Quran recitation files submitted to the competition from different parts of the country.

Mohammad Alwan Mohammad and Ebrahim Nayef Salim from Baghdad respectively won the first and the second ranks and Yas Fadhl Jasim from Diwaniyah came third.

The center will send online letters of commendation for the competition referees and the top participants via WhatsApp and Facebook.

The National Quranic Sciences Center in Baghdad is affiliated to Iraq’s Shia Awqaf Department.
